WHO IS THIS FLOWER FREAK?
Hi, I’m Jenelle, a do-it-yourselfer and flower enthusiast. A King’s Daughter and teacher at heart; wife and step-mother; and confessed Pinterest addict.
No, I’m not a florist. My background is in behavior analysis; which means I’m really good at taking a complex task and breaking it down into small teachable pieces. I did just that for nearly 20 years for people with autism.
Today my passion lies in showing everyone that they can bring the magic of flowers into their homes. I’ll arm you with a few simple skills and my own floral recipes and together we’ll break down the intimidation of floral design.
“Flowers are for Everyday and Everyone”
It is this idea that has led me on an amazing journey. I spent years wishing I could make the gorgeous flower arrangements I saw on Pinterest and the like. When I tried them they looked like they belonged on the “Pinterest Fails” boards. But one day I had an idea…

When I couldn’t find anything that met my recipe criteria I decided to enroll in a couple floral arranging classes. Then, I got carried away. Countless hours and flowers later I realized I learned more than how to assemble flower arrangements. I discovered that I’m pretty passionate about the idea that we need flowers in our everyday lives and that anyone can learn to make a flower arrangement they can be proud of. With that in mind, I designed Recipes & Roses to be a place where everyone – novice to enthusiast – can come to learn things like…
Recipes & Roses was developed with Encouragement & Community in mind. I’d love to see your flower arrangements and will soon install a page to feature your fabulous creations. So, please, share!
